I am a MA resident. have couple of questions about the fishing license.
1) MA and RI share fishing license?
2) to fish on GI bridge for squidding, do I need freshwater or saltwater license?
I got some blinking jigs and will try next weekend.
Thanks,

1. Yes!
2. Saltwater license.
Blinking jigs are not good, so far Coleman's jig dominating other or get some yamashita shutte jig.
Good luck!

Quiet night last night in JT. Stopped by after the AIST meeting. Saw a few (very few) small squid jigged up during the time I was there. Gave away two small Bluefish that I caught from my kayak earlier in the day.

Guess you guys are using generators and getting skunked?
I've done really good the past 3 nights with 2 hours of fishing each time. Landed little over 2 dozen each trip. With my trustee old lantern, I hate them bright flood lights everyone uses.
Just find a spot around Newport or JT with none to barely any street lights or people. You'll be good to go

Yea when they are in thick it doesn't matter how dim or bright the light is. But at times when there is a slow start, dim lights are your best bet. Also lose them 3oz sinkers I see people using. Sinking jig on bottom and floating jig 6 inches above it. Great set up when they picky.

I agreeXD! I do not use any sinker at all, unless there is strong current.
Last time I've got over 2dozen within 3hours.
Not bad huh?

I was thinking of heading out to GI tonight or tomorrow after the wife and kids are asleep. High tide is 1:53 a.m. and there should be a half moon up until 12:49 a.m. I don't suspect I will catch anything, but it should be a nice night. My guess, at this point, is that they will start coming in force throughout this week and next. The guy at the bait shop said they were starting to pick them up in the fish traps so they're starting to move in.
