fort Adams is best place to launch. there is a ramp closer but if you cant make your truck and trailer disappear then i have no idea where you going to park it

Be careful parking at the Elm street and Poplar street ramps. Only vehicles with parking permits are allowed and the Newport police have no problem handing out parking tickets.

Temp at the newport noaa buouy still only 46.2. Fluke season will open before the dang squid show up. Of course, the fluke may not be in close either.......

[/quote]The water should warm up this week. Air temp will be seventy Wed and sixty or better for the next several days. That and moon tides will bring them in soon. Reports south of NE say fluke are on the move.

Thanks to all for the feedback on the boat ramps but--I have a slip in Warwick and will just leave from there.I am sure I can troll back and forth under the Goat Island Bridge when the Squid are there. "LMFAO"

This forum is great.!!! Im new to squiding, I used to go along with my great unlce when I was younger. Excited to get back out there and try squiding for myself.

We probably won't see much action until it's above 50. Oh well. Still a few projects before I take the boat out. The seas look kindly on sat so I may poke around and see if anything is on the finder.

I did a recon trip in the Bay from shore and found nothing. There was some small bait around, but no squid or schoolie bass for that matter. Just the facts as I saw them. I can't wait.

Water in point judith pond 50.5. Hoipefully the ocean and bays will follow suit quickly.
