[sub]New to this site and new to squidding. Tried it for the first time last year and gotta say that I'm hooked! Very excited to get out there this year and trying for some. Any recommendations on where to try? General areas would be fine, not trying to step on anyones toes.[/sub]

Is it spring yet? <img src='http://www.squidfish.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Sad' />

They didn't show up until mid april last year. Lets hope they are early/on time this year. I have a cuttlebone to pick with them. <img src='http://www.squidfish.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Wink' />

Only time will tell when they will be here
#10
Keep an eye on the water temperature, this seems to have been a good guide in previous years.
#11
Where are all the squid at?
#12
hearing water is to cold were looking at first week in may this year is this true ?
#13
Last year was April 18 for me. I guess it may be sooner than that.

Few more weeks guys <img src='http://www.squidfish.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Smile' />

Good luck to all ....

I need to order some jigs. What is everyone's favorite "go-to" jig for the RI area early season?

I usually just buy whatever is cheap, but that is probably all the stuff that didn't sell the season before. Kind of self-selected to lures nobody thinks work. <img src='http://www.squidfish.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Wink' />

Also, where is a good source?

Thanks

Call luckys bait in warren ri. They have the best selection around.

I got some new jigs at the RISAA show I can't wait to try out.

I am also going to be upgrading my lighting arrangement. I blew up last years 1000 watt system and couldn't breathe life back into it, so Lowes has a 1200 watt system which I think I need in my arsenal. I also will be powering it off a 12 marine battery with alligator clips and a power inverter. I am curious to see how long that lasts. Mostly I use the quiet honda generators.

I can't wait. Get your sleep now!!!

I run 1200 watt light off a car battery every season with a converter. It works great last about 9 hours easy. Just buy your self a nice charger to charge the battery when you get home. Also put the converter in a plastic box of some kind to help prevent it from getting wet. I use a rubber maid container have been thru a lot of converters . Sorry about the sloppy info driving and typing at same time ! <img src='http://www.squidfish.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Smile' />

Was wondering how calm the water is in/around the G.I. area because I have a 16' bass boat that I'm trying to get into the water this year and maybe thinking about venturing out that way. Are there any boat launches over by the goat bridge? and how's the parking? Any info would be appreciated.
