Well, no squid for me tonight. I got there around 7:30 and at about 7:40 a seal came in no one was catching anything after that. I finally left at 11.

Tried to hit an early evening bite yesterday at 4:30PM. Not too good. Managed to get 1.5lbs by 8:00PM. Came back later at 11:30PM and had another 2.5 lbs by 2:30AM.
Squid schools started showing up nicely by 3:00AM. Ended up with 9lbs for the evening.

Where were you at?
Seattle. Down by the ferris wheel and aquarium. By the time the schools finally came in there must have been 30 people down there. I could have stayed longer. People were still catching when we left. But, I was tired and getting punchy. I didn't plan on staying so long. But, it was too much fun to leave.

There wer some posts about people trashing the docks, but I'm also concerned about some people urinating in the back of the buildings on Pier 69/70. As more people are fishing longer hours, this is becoming a serious problem, and sooner or later the management of the offices/restaurants there will literally get pissed off, and they might ban fishing on those docks for good. Remember, the South side of Pier 69 was one of the best squidding spots, but it was fenced off a few years because people were crowding the area and trashing the whole place. We're lucky we still have access to the North part of the dock, but that may not last for long. If you want to pee, just bring an open bottle or container and do it in the car, like I do. Otherwise, we might just lose another great fishing spot forever.

This was the number reason why they closed access to the South side of the bldg @pier 69 reason being people fishing there in the past have been urinating on site and you could really smell it. And most of all people are drinking alcohol and leaving their trash behind. I would have to agree with the last post that if people are not cleaning up after them selves our fishing pre villages on this and any other dock are in jeopardy.
Happy Squidding!!!

Des Moines was hot last night. I came home with my limit of 10lbs.
I bet there will be 20 people today at the Des Moines pier and all of them will come home empty.

Well, I guess if managers at pier 70 kicking people then we should urinate that place and keep 69 clean. Ok, ok, it was just a joke. Hate when people do that and simply ignoring others.
