April 1st - Sunny and chilly. Got the boat ready and out on the water for its spring shake out today. Air temperature has dropped dramatically over the past few or more days as compared to 10 days ago. Water temperature has dropped a bit too and where I go for squid it was a cool 44-45 degrees on top. No signs of squid - dipped the pole in for just a short while during my boat test run.

No other signs of life out there either except for the shore birds.

Hyannis Harbor is full of small bait. Looks like things are starting to happen. The fish weirs are in and it won't be long now...

Saw a couple boats out of Hyannis yesterday. All rods had jigs on them, they said they didn't catch anything? Not sure I believed them. The waters warm enough and there is a ton of bait around.....

Very warm here last night....58 for a low. Water is getting warm fast. Today will be warmer and sunnier, so the water is going to take a big jump fast. I'd say we will be squidding here by Friday, but there may be a few around already.....unfortunately I am committed to other activities this week that I can't get out of...But after that it's game on.

A few squid are around, got about 50 pounds last night, but they wouldn't bite. The blues are already here so the squid probably won't stay long. Good luck...the weather is going to turn cold and windy.....just in time.

50 pounds sucks. With all the squids I saw, shoulda been more like 500+....there are a lot of squid in Stage harbor and they are getting them right off the pier at night.

Woods Hole, Hyannis and Stahge Harbor in Chatham. Stage Harbor is on fire. Folks are getting 100 pounds plus, right of the pier there.

Just got word that there are also a few squid in Harwich at Wychmere Harbor - which is here -

Good pier, lot of light, good parking.

I hear that folks are trashing the area in Chatham....if they keep doing it, the town is going to stop letting people fish off the dock, so if you see someone littering there, tell them to pick it up. <img src='http://www.squidfish.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/thumbsup2.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':thumbsup2:' />
