Lilli Pilli NSW

Headed out to Lilli Pilli after work on wednesday night.

Managed a couple of average calamari and my first cuttlefish, so pretty pleased.

But the night wasn't over just yet.

Managed to land my new personal best, in the form of a 3kg calamari!!!

Still on a high about it several days later Big Grin

Thanks!

Yep, sure was.

Do you know of any other spots around there?

I went back last Friday night and it was not so great with others fishing off it.

egipro,

The hood was approx 40cm from tip to tip.

That is, looking at the picture, the round edge that sits roughly between the eyes to the top.

The jig was our new Ikado in a size 3 (90mm & 8.2g) with the 8g weight attached.

I was also using 6lb braid.

inkme,

Cheers [Image: smile.gif]

Yer I love how hard the 40+ models go, but then again i got a 36cm one the other night that went harder than my PB at 41cm caught only due to the fact that i had to contend with a dirty big seal.

Nice fat Cal mate.

Interesting Jig concept, how much do they / will they retail for?

Cheers

Not sure on RRP.

I'd assume they'd be similar to the Yamashita's etc, but I'll check on monday and see if we have the RRP listed on our system.

They should start showing up very soon at various shops now that the AFTA Show is over.

Okay, the rrp brings them in line with Yamashita etc.

At the end of the day, it'll come down to what the resellers want to charge for them.

Went out this morning for a quick session.

Sadly, 2 guys decided to keep the end of the jetty to themselves with 6 or so rods set up for fishing.

Went to the other side of the baths & cast towards the boats & managed a single calamari at 18cm.

Then the morons in boats came out to play.

Thinking of hitting Bear Island this afternoon/evening.

Anyone else heading out there?

Had a good night last night.

Started pretty slow, but picked up later in the night.

Caught & released young arrow squid.

Was using size 3 jigs and the arrows were not much bigger.

A couple of guys came down & left after after catching 1 that was about 25cm (hood).

I fish alot in the Port Hacking river around Bass & Flinders point. There is usually good numbers with the odd patch of thumpers. The Yamashita LIVE jigs have been doing the damage for me in size 2.5. I'll use a 3.0 if its high tide or there is a decent wind blowing. Great spot for catching squid.

Todd Fishing,

Hey thanks for the spot, will have to check it out.

BTW, since your pimping your Yamashita's in my thread,

can you hook me up with Yamashita Iki spike?

I'll trade you a Rapala stubby holder Big Grin

Hi Ojingo,

Sounds good, stubby holders are one of my favourite things <img src='http://www.squidfish.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Smile' />

We'll have to catch up for a fish.
