Victoria Marine Parks - Fishing Ban
#1
The 20 new marine parks the VNPA want seem to be selected based info given by rec anglers via survey. They are directly linkable to major boatramps and popular fishing destinations not unique or special wildlife.. The extemists do not have their hearts in the right place, they simply are recreational lobbyists trying to inflict pain on us. They do not own us or this land, it is for all to share, enjoy and manage.

How can we sit back and let our history and our future get taken away form us, Now is the time to fight. "Say no to the Greens say no to Labour"

LET UNITE AS FISHERMAN AND WOMEN AND SUPPORT OUR FUTURE, OUR KIDS FUTURE.

I think you are mixing up the greens with the vpna. They are not the same people:

The VPNA mention 20 parks whereas the Greens don't seem to mention it thus far.

The Greens have said:

Quote:ensure that the National Representative System of Marine Protected Areas program has legislated targets of a minimum of 30% ‘no take’ areas per bioregion by 2012.

can someone please post a link to the ALP policy on this? seems it is only a GREENS party policy.

It is a green's party policy the problem is labour is taking the green's

preference's so labour has to do what they want so DON'T VOTE LABOUR

VOTE LIBERAL and we will be safe.

That is right, As labour has taken the preference vote the greens have labour by the balls.

As fishing men and women we understand the need to protect for the future but the have not done any study at all and show no evidence to it.

This is no joke they will shut fishing down 100%

i think its 30% of vic water if they get re-instated and will grow each year, boat ramps will be closed also.

LABOUR WILL STOP US DOING WHAT WE LOVE AND ITS OUR RIGHT TO FIGHT FOR WHAT WE LOVE SO VOTE WITH YOUR HEAD, DONT HAVE THE COTTON WOOL PULLED OVER YOUR EYES.

THERE IS STILL A HUGE NUMBER OF PEOPLE THAT DONT KNOW ABOUT THIS AS IT HAS BEEN KEPT VERY HUSH HUSH WITH ALOT OF OTHER THINGS.

Your 100 % right 30% become's one day 50% and then 70% until

fishing become's illegal so give them nothing.

i posted mine back, in the long run that has f*** our country...

All labour do is spend money and never do any research befor decisions are made.

just like this fishing idea.

Its a shame that lots of individuals form opinions without research.!!!!!!

pisces it sure is, like i said we all understand the importance of doing all we can to make sure there is going to be a future, but without research how do they know that they need more marine park and so on... Typical greens trying to save the planet.

my understanding is that marine parks don't actually do anything except annoy fisherman.

so can anyone give us an update on whether labour is still planning on creating more marine parks in Victoria??

Hello Glen,

its all good to have a marine park if we need but no research has been done at all.

If labour get voted in they will make 30% of victorian waters marine parks by this time next year, and plan to have 50% by 2012.

The greens are pushing for it all, as labour has taken greens as preference vote anthing greens want they get...

I can put as many links and contacts up about this but its all pritty much the same.

there was a bir write up in the herald sun about liberal wont add more marine parks and so on.

had a pic of abbott holding a huge barra...

yeah but abbott is the Federal Lib. Is the State Liberal party saying the same thing? I presume they must be.

OK voting should be easy this year!!

As for research re: marine parks, there has been plenty of research done around the world and the consensus is that they don't achieve anything. Though it has been so long ago that I have read about that stuff.

they need to do new research.

look what happened with the mako ban....

so what choice do i have ? vote greens or labour and possibly be agreeing with the marine parks, or vote lib and be voting for the biggest idiot this side of the Rio Grande? who wants this country to go backwards? vote family first and be voting for a group of fundamentalist christians?

I have never in my life contemplated voting Liberal, and i'm not about to start now.

So who is there?
No problem...

Can do. Right. Uh-huh.

Gotcha. Cat in the furnace.
