Wow! A little quiet in here! Possibly going tomorrow to brave the wind and see what's up! Will post results! Best time of year! I hear the fluke are in....
I'm thinking the same thing but I just finished the day and I'm way too tired to get there (alive), maybe tommorow. It's hard to resist knowing that everyone must be there having a good time and maybe even catching.

Time to go fishing!
There were decent bites to be had all over southern RI last night, mostly large squid. Nothing lock and load, but still a good pick for those who knew what they were doing. Jamestown and LC seemed to be the hot spots. I couldnt get out today with the wind, but the bite up in Hyannis is still pretty slow to develop.
Good luck to all who brave the wind tonight.

I was scheduled to go out on a private charter with 24 other guys on the Helen H"s smaller boat called the "Angler" yesterday.
On Thursday the Helen H office called us to cancel the trip. They had a six pack squid charter the day before and caught nothing because blues and bass were in scattering all the squid. No schools were to be found. It was good of them to return our money and not take us all for a boat ride, especially when several were coming from NY for this trip. I think captain Dom is correct in his assessment. Snaildarter

I took a ride 4:30am today down to the GI bridge for a look see.I know conditions were not the best but I had to see it for myself. Not a single person in sight..some ink on the sidewalk and the water was real choppy.Looks like the conditions will improve a little for tonight but I think I will wait a few days. Some rain in the forecast this week so after that has past i will try again.Good luck guys

I feel like an idiot for asking but what's LC stand for? Was supposed to head up last night, fish all night, then during the day today. Unfortunately with this wind ripping 20kt+, that's not happening. I had to do landscaping instead <img src='http://www.squidfish.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=' ' />

The city doesn't tow from State Pier 9....it had to be DEM or RI State Police. City makes no money from there. Park in the metered spaces on Washington St (meters turn off at 9 pm), if you can find a spot.

I think I may have seen you last night, I distinctly remember a gentleman saying that his jigs were too big. The exact words were roughly, "the squid here are tiny, he said our jigs are for the ocean."

Sorry for the lack of reports.... been fishing quite a bit. Got out last Wed after the squid. Really slow. went bait fishing for pogies on Fri.... bailed a half cooler and a 32" bass as bycatch, not a bad afternoon. Back after the same pogies on Sat afternoon and none to be found. Marked a lot of bass but the bait was scattered and hard to get. The wind picked up and we left. Going to stay on land till tues due to the wind. Will be back after the tubes then and again on thurs, weather permitting. Good luck all and be safe.
