Fished Apollo Bay 2 mornings ago...awesome conditions.
Flat as a tack.
First cast had a nice calamari follow the jig in...thought it was a little shy and would not take the jig but when i took it away it got mad and went for it.....Bang!!!! On with a nice calamari right next to the pir. Very visual...saw the whole thing unfold only 2 metres away. I was using very light tackle and the drag was not set but I managed to get it onto the pier without too much problem.
Fished for another 15 mins and had no luck, so i chucked it in.
Amazing how the first cast is often the one that gets the fish.
Also shows there is a fine line between no success and doing OK.
Cheers
