Puget Sound, Wa (2010 Season)
#41
Im looking for some help on where to go tonight. I have been to seacrest and to 69 in seattle but havent been doing well the times I go. Everytime I get there they all tell me, ooooooohhhhh you should have been here last night. Been three times in last week for 4 squid. It seems like everyone else but me is finding pretty good numbers out there! I would like to have atleast one more good trip before the season winds down.

Well I went again down to seacrest and the guys there say its been hit and miss... one night 6 pounds the next a half pound. Im going back tomorrow with a couple buddies to seacrest and then to 69 and then to 86.....Tonight I left at 630 and only got one but watched about 25 get caught. Im on a marathon to find these buggers tomorrow! I wouldnt be suprised if I ended up in edmonds at the end of the night! Im goin hunting but if you are there early I will be at seacrest!

What color were you havin the best luck with? 6lb is good for edmonds ,congrats! I take you went late by the time of your post. so that means you were fishin low tide, interesting.
#46
Alright so seacrest sucked.... 69 is done there is now more power to plug into and no more people fish it anymore.... But 86 was pretty darn good. SMALL but a good number of them. Almost everyone there left with 30+ Anyone going down to edmonds tonight Im here in mill creek and could use a break from the long drive to seattle?
#47
What did you shoot it with?

Well I went to 86 with my wife tonight and got em good! They were the small to mediums but we ended up getting around 60 or so from 515 to 730! Good times, watched my wife get a double and another guy catch his first squid! I also got a triple two on one jig and one on the other! Kinda fun even though they werent the big bruisers we all want.

Nice work!

The getting was slow last night at Seacrest up til 630 when I left. Mostly little ones here and there.

There was a point where we saw some larger ones snooping around in the light, but they took off quick.

I'm gonna try 86 very soon.

yeah jubilee I hear that.... I fished seacrest probably 3 times in the last week and it has been SLOW! BUT everytime Im there, there are good reports coming from people saying they caught 6 pounds just last night.... I cant tell if they are pulling my leg or being serious.... I do know that the seattle side had been VERY consistant this year for me averaging around 30-50 a night for myself.... If you want to go soon I have thursday and friday off and the tides look PRIMO, so guess that means Im at it again!

Are you talking about 86? I was out at Seacrest the other day and it was pretty dead. There were times where some folks were pulling up some pretty large jumbo sizes but it didn't last too long. I'll probably try 86 soon. How are the outlets over there?
#54
there are plug in available at 86 so thats good. But I have found the squidding seems to be the best if you right in front of the entrance of the pier where theres kind of an elbow in the dock. there is only two plug ins right at that spot on the dock and they fill early. Either that or bring a long extension cord. My buddy and I got our butts handed to us on saturday when we tried hooking our lights up at the south end of 86 while everyone was wackin on em where just I told you. Im headed down thursday

Anyone been out lately? Still planning on going out again just curious if anyone has a report?

Is Pier 86 along Alaskan Way? On the way to Ballard from Belltown? Tried google and it shows me the 'happy hooker"? Sounds like a party. <img src='http://www.squidfish.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Smile' />

thanks

This direction is 5 years old. Now there's an overpass on the RIGHT side on Elliot Ave. that will take you to Pier 86. Galer is blocked. Pier 86 is still producing some small squid, but you get an unseasonable run of Jumbos if you're lucky.

The happy hooker is a tackle shop on the pier.
