Went out last night to seattle. it was steady until the seals arrived... So so all in all I got around 30-40 small to mediums and my three buddies racked up a total of 29 between three of them. The bad part is that we fished from 5:00 pm till 1:00 am. Consistant but slow at times.

Seacrest in West Seattle was hot on Saturday night. From about 7-8pm there was a constant run of large squid. Everyone on the pier was catching with ease. After that, it went cold. Ended up with 12 large squid in about 45 minutes. I wish every night was like that!

Went down to seattle again tonight. It was awesome when we got there but quickly died off.... Now here's the skinny. My buddy and I got there around 330 pm STILL IN BROAD DAYLIGHT and got set up. Needless to say, less than 10 mins afterward my best friend looked at me and started laughing. He got one! Yup in the DAYLIGHT! Wow I was amazed! But it gets better! Not the next cast and I got one and from there on out until it got dark was ON FIRE! Between the two of us we managed to nab around 60 before it even got dark. We ended up with a total around 80. Not bad from 330 to 730! Good luck it really is that good out there but they come in schools just be patient enough to wait em out and you will be kindly rewarded.

Can anyone familiar with the Key Peninsula area direct us to the public docks where we can take our boys squid jigging? We hear that Filucy Bay and Longbranch are running, but are not sure about public access. Also, does anyone know if the Kennedy dock is a good location? We hope to go out tonight! Fun Fun Fun! Can't wait for calamari!

Great..... Was there any size to them? We were there in Nov. and there were a couple people getting them in the daylight hours and they were bigger then the ones people were getting at night.

I hear Des Moines is still doing fairly well. Not consistantly, but for those that put in the time, they are doing OK. Redondo about the same.

Seacrest in West Seattle has been pretty good. Not great, but pretty good. Much better than my experience with Edmonds this year.

Sorry its been a while guys! I have been fishing off of pier 69 the port of seattle pier on the north side. There were a few plug ins that we could use for lights but they went down a week or so ago. I swung by there on Saturday night and still no power and fishing was slow for the first part of the evening. I mean not a one from 330 - 530. I know it was still light for most of that time, but I didnt have much faith in fishing without lights at night so we opted out to 86. I was suprised to see about 20 people there but 15 of them werent even fishing. So I tried for about 20 mins or so and got out of there. Just wanted to let you guys know what I have seen lately.
Im thinking about leaving Mill Creek around 3 or so to go try this Seacrest. Does anyone know if Seacrest is the same peir as Alki? Any tips for seacrest at all? Are they the big ones or the standard little guys this year?

Seascrest was decent before the seal came in. Nice ones too! The bad part is that the seal came only 20 after it go going and killed it the rest of the night. Everyone else down there couldnt stop talking about how slow it was. From what I got it has been good down there. BUT This is the third time I have heard of the seals screwing it up in the last month at this spot. Oh yeah and there were divers that said they had an awesome night dive as I was leaving. Curious, I asked what they saw. They replied "playing with all the seals was amazing!" HA I dont know much about squid but what I do know is that EVERY time I see a seal in a good squid bite, it dies. Sure a long ways for me to go down there to play with the seals. However, they were the better sized squid and again people were talking like this was very slow compared to what has been happening down there. I got a total 0f 5-6 from 330-730 and they all came in about 5 mins before the seal got there. After the seal NO ONE got ANYTHING!
