Floating Yo Zuri Squid Jigs
#1
I bought some floating yo zuri squid jigs by mistake. Are these any good? has anyone returned or exchanged jigs before at tackle shops? i am going to try tomorrow. I cant believe that there is a jig, with a weight on it, and it is designed to float!!?? Please let me know if these are any good, if they are ill just keep them.

hi bent road,

the jigs you purchased are designed to be used on a paternoster rig with a sinker (like a typical surf fishing rig). i am sure they would catch squid but I personally have never spent much time fishing in this way. maybe someone else can offer more practical advice.

gday glen

I went back to the tackle shop and exchanged them for 2 yamashita jigs, that glow in the dark. I wouldnt bother with all that sinker stuff, the guys were freindly and helped me out so i just swapped them.

I went squidding last night at ruschcutters bay in sydney harbour, i caught 5 squid(bait size) today i went to watsons bay, i fished on the pool wharf and casted infront of the yacht club, it looked like squid territory, i was hopeing to catch some calamari but i think the tide was too low, it was 4pm and a very low tide, got nothing in 1 hour so i left.

G'day Bent-rod I usually have a paternoster rig doing it's thing set up on the side. I have caught squid with a green yozuri of the type you mentioned, In the rig i also use a blue and pink - red jig but it is the green one they always get caught on at Bare Island <img src='http://www.squidfish.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/xyxthumbs.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Smile' />
