Hello,

Completely new to the area, boating and squid. I have a very long way to go but I will read as much as I have time for and ask (hopefully not to many) stupid questions.

I stumbled across this web site thanks to Quan on bdoutdoors.com forum.

I am interested in everything that is boating and fishing.

Thanks

Gusgus

Yeah, seems like a lot of people view this site but not many folks contribute. Them squid fishermen must be of the tight lipped variety! You can always PM me on BD about any fishing stuff. As far as squidding goes, buy some squid jigs and start jigging them! This time of year, I think the middle to south sound is where they are at. Find a local pier (especially one where you see folks dangling lights) or one of the ones mentioned on this site and start jigging. Smaller seems to be better nowadays. I was down at Les Davis (Tacoma) yesterday and all I had were big squid jigs and I just kept hooking into herring. The guys next to me had smaller jigs and they were catching a few. Let us know how ya do!

Thanks for the update.

Just now, I have finished getting my boat ready for it's maiden voyage tomorrow. Then I would like to get set up for more fun and some squid fishing.

Where is the best place to buy fishing gear around Tacoma/Federal Way?
