Went out off PJ on Wed. water temp was just under 48. Saw nothing, the winds are holding us in for a few days but it will happen soon.

Did you check the newport squid 2013 topic? Up to 13 pages, and squid caught last night.
Defiant, I was out on thursday in the same place, same result. The francis fleet went on Sat and said they caught a small number. They are there.....

Thanks greg, I have been reading that in 2 weeks will be better than this weekend because of the new moon, I am new at this, any truth to that statement?

Lots of people say that, but I can't tell you one way or another. The fishing varies so much based on wind, water clarity, tide, temp, and predators that I've never been able to figure out a rhyme or reason. Some times a few hours will completely change their behavior.
I don't usually have the luxury of saying I will fish a particular tide or moon, I end up fishing when my schedule allows and that means whatever tide/moon/whatever happens to be there. <img src='http://www.squidfish.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='
