Exploring New Jersey - BillHoo - 05-11-2019 I've heard it's rare, but people sometimes get a windfall of squid off the Jersey shore/surf.  I tried on Nov 1, at 10:30 PM to 11:45 off one of the public marinas in Monmouth county open to the inlets.  Used a Battery operated LED work light. I think it was at the top of the incoming tide. Lots of small bait in the water. Got a few taps on the squid jig, but nothing caught.  I'll try again as the season progresses. Exploring New Jersey - boxer38z - 23-05-2022 im in NJ also I know this is old post but yeah I use to catch  small squid at Belmar Marina but not a lot only 2- 3.  catch a lot more on the boat if you just happen to run into them just outside the shark river inlet.  if you looking to catch them on land you need to head up north like RI or MA. |
