Hood Canal - Newbie - Guest - 11-02-2005 Hi, I'm fairly new to Washington State and have wanted to try squidding since I moved to Shelton. I'd love to find someone who squids in Hood Canal or other parts of South Puget Sound who could offer their expertise. Thanks so much for any assistance. <img src='http://www.squidfish.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> Hood Canal - Newbie - Guest - 14-02-2005 Hello: Hood Canal offers really good squid fishing. Unfortunately it is closed to almost all fishing due to low oxygen levels. Salmon can be caught starting Feb 16th 2005. Puget Sound offers squid fishing basically everywhere. Port Orchard and Bremerton are the close to you. Go to the pier at night and watch what people are doing. Most of the people are friendly and will give you some tips. It is a great time and does not cost much money. Basically any rod and reel will work. I prefer a longer rod with a soft tip. Brownsville Marina sells a really great rod. You just need to get out there and give it a try. You will love it! Good Luck! <img src='http://www.squidfish.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/xyxthumbs.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> |
