An exploratory squid fishing trip is planned with a 9 p.m. departure Monday. Skipper Michele Leary says this first trip will be "guaranteed." The fare is $78 and if no squid are caught, the money will be applied to a future trip. A minimum of 15 passengers is needed. Reservations are required. Call 772-1222.
Commercial fishermen are currently catching 20- to 40-pound Humboldt squid.
