We have had heaps of run off in Sydney this summer and the fresh /dirty water has made them hard to get. I still see a few around the lower parts of the Harbour but they are hard to catch.Does the jig colour or scent make a difference? Any suggestions ?

I would guess changes in salinity or water temps would scare them into deeper waters

I was fishing from the wharf near the pool at Clifton Gardens and some young fellows were jumping into the pool trying to make the biggest splash. It was low tide and the water was greenish and turbid ,visibility was only 1-2m underwater, very unpromising.Looking over the side to see if any baitfish were hiding inside the pool (tip :a surefire way of knowing if any predator fish are about) I saw 6 familiar shapes...... waited till the boys left and the pool was empty ,dropped in an orange 2.0 yamashita and BANG I was ON.Nice eating size Arrow, second cast an even bigger Calamari this time ! In the same school....never had that happen before. They can also be found at Watsons Bay ,got a couple there 2 days ago ,but they were small and really only suitable for bait <img src='http://www.squidfish.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Tongue' />
