Google Earth - bluewaterhunter - 04-11-2008

has anyone used google earth to help locate good squid spots?

I am trying to use to ID new ground off williamstown.

I think I have found some good potential...broken reef and a some nice habitat.

will give it run with the kayak when the winds stops howling!

hi blue, you might also want to try the port phillip bay data here:

Go to the DSE Marine Map:

Turn on the "BATHYMETRY - PORT PHILLIP BAY" layer and zoom in!!! this will show you how deep the water is.

Cheers, Glen

For those who like the pier at Rye....

Take a ride on the giant ferris wheel at the Rye carnival, I did last week and saw reefs that are within casting distance from the pier(surf rod with jig under a float).

Will post reports when I get to fish there again..

sounds good!!! but you know you could always get a kayak and paddle out there! <img src='http://www.squidfish.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':th' />
