Bore Da From Sydney - papageintaucher - 22-11-2008 hello everyone i'm from wales originally and have been living in sydney since march but am still to notch a squid on the rod butt. there isn't really that much of an abundance of squid around the uk waters and i never really spent longer than 32 mins using a squid jig but i've decided to make it my mission to catch at least one squid before 2008 is out. any suggestions on lures and where to buy them and where and when to use them would be greatly appreciated! i picked up some from big w but i see the Daiwa and Yo Zuri brands mentioned a lot. where is a good place to get these in the sydney area or is online my best bet? i saw an asian gentleman catch a squid near the mission impossible island at la perouse a few months back so was going to give that place a try this evening. i'll let you know how i go....<img src='http://www.squidfish.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':th' /> tight lines! jamie Bore Da From Sydney - aajlin - 24-11-2008 Hi Jamie Any places that hold good patches of kelp and/or ribbon weed. Places to try are around Kirribilli, Manly, Balmoral, Middle head and Watsons and Rose Bays - even some of the areas around blues point will hold squid. Try to have a range of different lure sizes and colours. Bore Da From Sydney - glen - 25-11-2008 hi jamie, did you manage to catch one? <img src='http://www.squidfish.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':th' /> |
