Do you guys think that this is a good enough speargun for a beginner?I purchased it from ebay,havent recieved it yet and just want to know what you guys think.

It looks idenitcal to the gun I started with - except mine was yellow! It will be alright, they have a reliable mechanism, downsides are these guns are a bit on the heavy side and the spear shaft is quite thick (which contributes to the weight of the gun and detracts from your effective range). You will find your spearing experience less frustrating if you replace the spear head with a cluster (multiple pronged) head. If this was an ebay cheapie then I'm not sure how much faith I would have in the rubber that comes with the gun, you should be carrying a spare anyway.



The best advice I can give you (as a beginner) is please PLEASE learn your species before you start shooting everything you see. Many beginners seem to think it is good sport to shoot every wrasse, kelpie, toadfish, stingray etc that they see just for fun/target practice. Apologies if you know your fish but many don't and it gives the sport a bad name when that sort of stuff happens. Thanks for the advise and dont worry i wont be shooting everything i see.I still have a lot to learn but i am reading up on things when i get the chance.Iam new to this sport and basicly new to the ocean,so yeh,have a lot to learn.Cheers.
