Squid Crouton - delta18 - 12-08-2009 I just tried a new recipe tonight which I adapted from a Prawn Recipe. It was delicious! Here goes.... 2 eggs A sprinkle of seasoning, I used masterfoods Season-All Seafood. Sesame Seeds Salt & pepper to taste. Whisk these together then toss in some squid pieces ( a reasonable sized tube) cut into 1cm square size bits. Cut the crusts off 4 or 5 slices of bread then spoon the mixture onto the bread to cover. Sprinkle some more sesame seeds on top. Fry the bread 90 seconds max both sides, I used Rice Bran Oil. Yummy. This works so well too using prawns instead of squid. Enjoy Neil. Delta is the bread deep fried or pan fried? Does the mixture stay on the bread?[/quote] Hi there Sorry I wasn't clear, yes the bread is pan fried, and with care turning, the mix will stay on. I used a spatula to hold the mix on as I turned it but when the mix side is cooked then the cooked egg holds it together. Sounds difficult but it really isnt.
