Hey i've been squidding for quite a long time and the squid jig that i always use is one of the new natural coloured squid jigs. Different strokes for different folks I guess.
Those squid can be fickle creatures.
I'm in South East Queensland near Manly boat harbour and have been using :
An Orange Shrimphunter in size 3
A Purple / Pink Yamishita in size 2.5
Various colour " Sambo " jigs in size 2.5 that I got off Ebay.
I had to remove one of the sets of hooks and file the lead weight to get these to sink the way I wanted.
I have not been chasing squid much but usually manage 1 or 2 a trip.
It is the off season for squid up here I'm told so maybe thats it or maybe I'm just not a good fisherman.
Nah , must be the first one !

Thanks for that Dr Zoidberg, i live in Perth WA and i havent been squidding for a while because i've been busy but when ever i go i catch quite a good feed of squid <img src='http://www.squidfish.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':lol' /> , usually about 5 or 6 squid <img src='http://www.squidfish.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/blueboxbullet.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':lol' />

Besides I do most of my filing , tuning and tarting up of jigs under the house now that I bought home a 20 litre drum of Manly Harbour sea water to test sink rates.
So many jigs , so little time.

Don't start me on tackle tinkering or I'll go on for pages.
At the moment I'm mucking around with the side fins on jigs since the feathers I ordered from USA turned up.
I reckon I'll end up with jigs that look like a stumpy humpback whales !
Recently I tried to post some picture of squid I caught but couldn't figure out the intricacies of posting a picture on Squidfish.
I'll read up about posting pictures and then post some of a couple of jigs I've tarted up.
