Jig worked quiet well casted into the wind from mordialloc pier and BMYS and it worked 95 % of the time . I think the failures were my fault in not making sure the ball was clear of salt and my line diameter was maybe a little larger than needed and also dont push the ball to hard down onto the post and make sure you rinse out the jig and ball when finished in fresh water to get rid off any salt build up, as you should do with any and all jigs there to expensive now. I,d like to try a 3.5 but not sure if they make them in the larger size. the only other point id like to say is i think the little white ball should be black in colour as on most occassions the little leather jackets at BMYS would have a go at it on the way up and maybe snip the leader..........Maybe i,m sure you could achieve 99% of casts no problems, even a standard jig gets tangled up every so often but i was impressed at the distance of my casts with almost sending out all my braid eccept for a few coils before the backing line on the spool. Overall pleased with the results . Cheers Ian |
