Water temp several degrees below average at GI. Fished 9:30 am- 12:30 pm at GI. Three people squidding. Only two caught! Nothing really happening during the day yet.

I tried GI early this morning and got nothing. Wind was howling. Figured three sunny days in a row would get things going but that was not the case. Two other squidders had a couple in the bucket.

Like usual some did well and some mainly watched. I might be one of the doing well. The first and longest stop didnt produce much, the third and the last stop after 10:30 was pretty good. Full moon shined brightly above head that could be a factor.

I suspected the bite got better. Went to GI this morning and saw a lot of new ink along the sidewalk.

Another squidder and I each caught 5 within a 3 minute span this morning then it shut down completely. Must have just hooked into a pod as they swam by. They were in the middle of the water column.

Fished on the anchor south of the Seven Bs and the FF were drifting east of us.
It was windy early but seemed to lay down after a while. Did get a rain squall push through early morning but that ended soon.
A steady pick of squid of all sizes. Some big and others not so much.
I had a strange time by catching black sea bass on my squid jigs. Everyone around me is getting squid but I kept getting the sea bass. A first for me on squid jigs.
Well after some info from the Captain and one of the mates I was dialed in to what depth the squid were hitting at. Seems like everyone went home with a good number of squid.
First time on the boat and very impressed with how clean it was, including the heads. Crew were fantastic and the only negative was the long run from Niantic to Point Judith area.
I would fish with them again.

Went with Frances Fleet last night for the first time. Though it was a full boat, it was a lot of fun. In all I had about 2/3 of a bucket, which was somewhere on the upper end of the folks I saw. Confident everyone caught at least a few. Great night, will be back again. soon.
