Noob here guys, went to Seacrest today, ( Alki pier ) Nothing caught between 8pm and 9pm. Only 2 squidders out. Quite a few out on Saturday night, but not alot caught. I think I'm gonna wait 2 more weeks till I go out again. Unless told otherwise. Happy jigging! ;-)

Yeah, next time catch them with jigs. It's more fun (and challenging) to catch squid with jigs one-two at a time. Besides, you can't eat 500 of them anyway, can you?
The easiest way to cook them is stir-fry. Just cut them up in rings or strips, and sautee with butter or olive oil, with chopped garlic, salt, pepper, and perhaps chopped basil or parsely for 10-20 seconds until they change color from opaque to white. Deep fried calamari is also good, and a very simple version is to put the cut squid in a plastic bag, pour some salt, pepper & flour mix, and then shake the whole bag. Put the squid in hot oil and deep fry for 20-30 seconds until crisp. sprinkle lemmon and eat. It's faster than using thick batter, and less cooking time means tenderer squid.

I was at the Kingston dock last night from about 9:30 to 10:30. Nothing there, and no other fisherman. This was my first time squidding ever, so either the squid just weren't there, or I was doing something wrong. I'll give it another go in a few nights. Hopefully, someone else will be there and I can observe and learn.

Went to Les Davis in Tacoma Sunday night. There were 5 or 6 of us squidding. I saw two squid caught by one other fisherman. After 2.5 hours, I gave it up. Will try again in a few weeks.

I've only tried kingston a few times with limited success. My best days have actually been in the summer months, this year especially. the squid were really drawn in by the dense schools of out migrating salmon smolts that congregated near the pier in june and early july. I had a few nights in early july were i was able to catch several dozen smaller size squid. It felt good to do a service for future salmon generations and get a tasty treat while i was at it. seems to me that squid fishing at kingston is really dependent on having a good food source to attract the squid. Ive only tried it twice since near the end of august and haven't seen a single squid. im sure kingston will see more squid as we get more into winter, just have to be patient.

bellingham bay might be to shallow for squid, but then again ya never know, id have to say no with the amount of fresh water coming into the bay there, if you had a boat and could get out past the sand bars would be worth a shot, try you luck south of the ferry dock or maybe try the state park at anacortes or larrabee state park,

Another noob here. I just started messing around with this a month or so ago. I typically end up at either the Kingston pier or Indianolat. These areas seem to be slow at best, which probably explains why I'm the only one out there, But then being new it's hard to tell. Some guys i know went to Kingston and slayed them about a month ago and I watched someone who had lights set up giving it a go (you could see the occasional squid move through his lights). Perhaps I'll have a good report after tonight. .

Went jigging at Waterman (1 squid) then to Annapolis (just outside of Port Orchard) (1 squid) then on to Redondo (0 squid). So my consensus is ....aliens have spirited away all the squid to perform unnatural experiments on them...oh, the horror!
Actually, just before I got to Waterman, a couple of jiggers got about 20 apiece...figures.
