Went squidding for the first time in my life Tuesday night (Dec. 4th) in Bremerton. My buddy and I caught 18-20, mostly pretty small, in about an hour and a half. The water was surprisingly clear after all the rain, and we saw a lot more squid than we could catch.

If it's mostly small squid around, you will do best using the smallest of squid jigs. About 1 inches I think works best.

Edmonds public pier seems to be heating up a bit. A few weeks ago it was pretty dead. From what I have heard and having been there Sunday night with about a dozen folks, it seems it started picking up last week. No squid seen, but lots of them caught, so they must be hugging the bottom. After the recent deluge maybe they don't like all the fresh water on top, or maybe they are spawning. It's not a frenzy by any means but most folks went home with a few.

Quote:Squid in Puget Sound: "It hasn't been that good for squid jigging, but one of our customers got some from the Seacrest pier [in West Seattle] and Pier 86 [off Elliott Avenue near the Grain Terminal]," said Jerry Beppu, owner of Linc's Tackle Shop in Seattle.

Other places to jig for squid are in Elliott Bay off Pier 62 and the Seattle Aquarium, and the Dash Point, Point Defiance, Redondo, Des Moines, Edmonds, Vashon and Bremerton piers.

I was at a Seattle pier last night (69) and I saw people getting a few. The wind and waves were pretty rough, so moved to Les Davis pier in Tacoma and got skunked. Met two guys on the pier who got two squid in about two hours. Not good.
