Puget Sound, WA (2011 Season) - bufford - 19-01-2011
thanks bufford i'll have to try that!!! have you been having much luck lately?
No Prob..It really depends on many factors..Season, Location, If your Shore fishing it or on a boat...etc..etc. I would say...The months of June and August is the best if you just plan on bottom fishing from shore.. Places like Deception pass always seem to be great for Rainbow Perch and Greenlings year round..Just make sure you switch to Shrimp for bait...Seems to work best Mukilteo has a hidden reef that is next to the old T-Dock and next to shore..The place is just full of Rock Cod, Lings, Perch, Flounder, and Dungee Crabs...However? Rock cod and Ling cods Not really in season at the moment..So? Be careful..(cough cough) Currently as you can tell it is squid season and that is probably what 99% of the fellows in here are doing atm...<img src='http://www.squidfish.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/rolleyes.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> Puget Sound, WA (2011 Season) - Jaeger - 19-01-2011 I haven't been out for a couple weeks because my girlfriend is back from AU and also with the rain I'm thinking the squid have moved out from shore. Has anyone been out? Puget Sound, WA (2011 Season) - 2006855 - 24-01-2011 Are there still squid being caught in Tacoma area?<img src='http://www.squidfish.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/images2.jpg' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='q:' /> Puget Sound, WA (2011 Season) - TinyTech - 27-01-2011 Went out to Kingston last night. Puget Sound, WA (2011 Season) - The Squiding Phenom - 27-01-2011 Its not over yet. <img src='http://www.squidfish.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/whistling.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':wh' /> Puget Sound, WA (2011 Season) - rekcah - 27-01-2011 Nothing in Seattle Puget Sound, WA (2011 Season) - troutfisher - 29-01-2011 has anyone caught any in the seattle area recently Puget Sound, WA (2011 Season) - tfish0788 - 29-01-2011 let me rephrase my earlier comment. I haven't seen any squid since it started raining More frequently and the water turned muddier. this could be a factor. Also, my total effort since December has been significantly decreased and i haven't really hit very many good tides and the current flows have been stronger than i expect when i do make it out. A lazy current or none at all seems to be best and i haven't had the chance to pin point those conditions in a while. it is altogether possible that there are still squid at kingston; there is a ton of bait fish around the dock at night. i just haven't been in the right place at the right time to rule out squid still being around. i have heard reports of squid in the port orchard area, perhaps the ones we had in Kingston earlier continued south. Puget Sound, WA (2011 Season) - Sharphook - 02-02-2011 I stopped going last Friday. Although I had 1 for the day I was the only one at Dash point Puget Sound, WA (2011 Season) - jaddock - 06-02-2011 Can anyone tell me if the squid season is over in the South Sound (Steilacoom and Olympia)? We have relatives coming in Mid-Feb. and wanted to treat them to the uniqueness of squid fishing. Puget Sound, WA (2011 Season) - TinyTech - 14-02-2011 Coming home on the 830 Edmonds ferry last night(2/12), the Mrs. and I noticed a boat a bit north of the ferry lane with bright lights over the water and holding position. Was it anyone heretrying their luck in deeper water? Puget Sound, WA (2011 Season) - cowgirltrouble68 - 16-02-2011 Me and the fiance are gonna try the Allyn Pier sometime this week..Will let everyone know how it goes. Puget Sound, WA (2011 Season) - biffbeard - 01-06-2011 No reports since Feb? Anybody fishing now or is it too early for the summer run? Thanks Puget Sound, WA (2011 Season) - baz - 09-06-2011 I just registered here today. I'm interested very much for squid fishing and I bought everything for squid fishing. I need the right spot in British Columbia or Washington state around Seattle and prefer fishing from piers and I do not have boat. Can any one help me find the right spot and time for fishing squid both in WASHINGTON STATE OR BRITISH COLUMBIA AROUND VANCOUVER. THANKS Puget Sound, WA (2011 Season) - jasonosburn - 24-06-2011 Hi Baz, Welcome to the forum... I've been fishing the South Puget Sound area, Tacoma & Des Moines docks mostly, and have not had any luck at all. My luck with the Summer run is slim to none. To be honest i've switched out my squiding lures for the wifes honey-do list. (Yes I've actually admited that), and am waiting for the winter run to come back through. Hopefully its just me and others have had better luck, but from my end the south sound is not the best place to be. Happy casting... |
