Hello Guys,
I am from Dublin Ireland and I am in my third year of chasing the squid around the Irish Coast. It is mainly a winter experience with the squid (Loligo forbsei) coming into the bays around September. I mainly go fishing from the yak and its great fun when you hit into a patch of squid.
I am still trying various rigs and lures from all corners of the globe and as yet haven't found the perfect lure for the Irish scene, but I am getting there. The squid are in abundance along the coast at present but the largest size is in the region of 20-25cm tube length. The larger squid seem to stay off in the deeper water and are only caught by the commercial trawlers.
Anyway, just wanted to say Hi.
