Hi guys

I've been fishing for a while but never specifically targeted squid. I've always thought about it but I've never seen anyone squid fishing in the Brisbane area before so never pursued the idea further. Anyway I'm pretty much a novice when it comes to squidding but have bought myself some new jigs to try my luck. I have read that winter is the best time for squid as they prefer cold water. So I was just wondering if it was still possible to catch squid now that it is spring or am I dreaming? Don't know any good spots so looking to try my luck at the popular ones like wellington and viccy point jettys.

cheers

g'day cam

autum and winter are better for the landbased squid around here, mainly because the winds are mosty SW to NW and it cleans up the water on the western side of the bay

you can catch squid here all year round.

for more detailed info on the brisbane area have a look here http://brisbaneegiclub.forumotion.com and also read through the qld posts here

happy squidding
That's good to know mate, looks like I missed the main squidding seasons though but hopefully I can still get a few. One will be good enough. Also thanks for the link, I will definitely check it out.
