Good luck to anyone squidding tonight. May the ink shower you!
I have a question about fishing squid at night with a full moon..Wouldn't it be better without a full moon? Since you have your generators going, the squids will just stay around your light. But with a full moon wouldn't they tend to freely move elsewhere? From my understanding squids like to go where ever there is lights right?

At heart, I would have to agree with you. Today, you can't go to the men's room with out a permit. I am all for enforcing the littering laws. But I have seen an instance or two in the past where instead of taking the time to enforce, they just shut down the place. The city of Newport could just put up a "No Fishing" sign and wave the problem away without having to pay the police to do it. The same with Fort Wetheril or Adams or Getty, as they are state owned. Maybe the threat would educate people on how to take out the trash you arrive with.

I used to go to the state owned URI Bay Campus pier before it was shut down for littering. I also regularly pick up roadside trash from disgusting slobs (and it's not that I'm doing mandated community service either).
They shut down Bay Campus where the Endeavor ties up under the guise of "security". OK. I'm fine with that when the boat is there. But the real culprit was the trash that showed up and the litter they left behind. The place is off limits all the time and has been since soon after 9/11 provided a convenient solution for the overworked URI PD. In fact my wife caught her first squid there and literally inked a white shirtted URI cop who was working hard watching us fish. Maybe that's why they shut it down!

Hello Suzy, I don't remember who the original person was that came up with the logo. I know you can copy and save the logo on your computer. I made a little sign and taped it to a 5 gallon pail.

I was bored and went back to look at the 09 thread..I gave up after clicking threw five pages..But a member by the name of Striper1 might be the guy. Since his GISS image didn't have a member number unlike yours.
I went gi bridge last night and caught nothing. Still to cold maybe 2-3 weeks more

Any other people there?
I've been out to several spots I usually go to, including GI, in the past couple of weeks and I have not seen any squid yet. Even the tell tale of bait fish being around there's hardly any. Last year I tracked the water temperature when I started seeing squid I didn't see any until it reached at least 50 F degrees and even then they weren't taking my jig. I was out last night around 8:30 pm and didn't see anything, water temperature was 47.3F degrees, will keep you posted.
Happy Easter to all! May we all be blessed with buckets filled with squid this year!

Happy Easter everyone!
Today sure feels like summer compare to the past few days. I'm gonna give GI a shot this evening and will report later.
Gorgeous morning...starting to get cloudy though.
Happy Easter fellow squidfishers.
i was there last night and even had lantern dropped down..nothing. i would say the warm heat next week should bring the squids in.

it won't be long now. hopefully the rains this week dont cool things off. a solid week of 50+ degree water will bring the bait in and the new moon in may will bring the squid. it's gonna go down the first week of may for sure

What's the latest time that the squid have shown up? End of May?
Water temperatures!
I am going to place bets that there will be ink on the Causeway before weeks end. Anyone been up there? Are the Cherry Blossoms in full bloom yet?
I have correlated the two.
I am wondering if the campgrounds are open up there yet?
Cheers!
