Anyone live up by Westport MA or Fall River?
Maybe they got lost.

Let me know what you find out... I'm hearing about somewhere near this famous rock <img src='http://www.squidfish.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='
' />
and another source is saying it could be at Massachusett's Sanfrancisco... "Hey Hey" "Don't Bend over!!!" <img src='http://www.squidfish.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/w00t.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':woot:' />
I wonder where the squids are off Point Judith. East Wall? West Wall? Reefs off Green Hill? A hint anyone? <img src='http://www.squidfish.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/zorro.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':zorro:' /> Definitely want to take advantage of the New Moon Phase.
Went squid fishing in the ocean yesterday. Plenty of squid and loaded with eggs. The squid come in the bay to spawn. Spawning may have been delayed by water temp ?quote name='Squid_Man' timestamp='1306537871' post='22397']
The squids are not around Newport that's all... I heard news of someone having a 1000lb night somewhere in Massachusetts. <img src='http://www.squidfish.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/whistling.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':wh' />
Squid Migration pattern can be unpredictuable... We have always relied on the GI and maybe a shift in the earth somewhere <img src='http://www.squidfish.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> or maybe change in weather pattern... <img src='http://www.squidfish.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/ohmy.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':o' /> could cause a change in the migration pattern.
Look at the Humboldt squid... A creature that supposely is found in Mexica are showing up as far up as Alaska. Who knows!? <img src='http://www.squidfish.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/blueboxbullet.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':ink' />

Went last night, fished 7P-Midnight. One run of squid, 9 squid in about half an hour and the rest of the time was silence. Hmmm. Perhaps they will come in in a bit?
call me crazy but....i think the squid runs is already done. They moved up north.

How far north do they go. I have caught them in Bristol harbor. Has anyone caught them in the warren or barrington rivers??
Was out around the Gail Frances and we a party of 3 manage atleast 300lbs of squid! It was foggy which made it very difficult getting back to port. So definitely some safety concerns there. I advise booking with the Frances Fleet if you want to get into some big tubes. Most of the squid are large tubes and plenty out there! It's only $45 bucks a person and you'll get if not come close to a 5 gallon bucket <img src='http://www.squidfish.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/w00t.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':woot:' />

Howdy all,
Squids are out there guys, don't give up yet ... wet your lines and be patience...
Fish from 11pm to 4am, I was helping a newbie (line tangle, re-tie .. etc) so only 3.5 buckets (on boat) while a friend pull 5 buckets.
The season should be in full force by now.
A little bird told me in the past that the run heavily on May 24 on forward ...
Have a great fishing season to all.
/Tony
p.s: I was fishing from land last night from 1:30am to 4pm got 80 squids.

Awesome man!
Went on the Gail Frances last night
Squid were biting in the beginning off the bottom and later slacked off.
Then they moved to the surface, fishing with floating jigs seemed to do the trip.
Not a great night, almost a full bucket between two guys 80-90 squid.
Some people getting full buckets were parties 3+.
Over all, so so night for squid on the Gail Frances, boat was more rockier than expected.
I think Newport is done with the squid, start looking towards the north for the squid, said a little bird.

I've done that run into pj in the dark with dense fog. We couldn't see the lights on either side of the jetty as we entered the harbor of refuge. We never saw the wall or either side f the channel save a few lights on shore.
Fun ride in. I'm short crew or I'd be out there tonight (not something I want to single hand).
was at GI last night for 5 hours...Mostly slow but it picked up a little at like 9:30

Yea we had a spot light and we were lucky to have a ship pass by to lead us in. We had GPS but no compass so it was a bit tricky. Just picked up a Richie compass at West Marine today. But this is what we ended with... These aren't 5 Gallon buckets.

Well done indeed!
Fwiw, the frances boats almost always set up on nebraska shoals near the number 2 buoy. I'm planning a trip there either weds or thursday eve out of pj if anyone wants to hitch a ride. All you need is your own gear and the ability to drop and pull an anchor. <img src='http://www.squidfish.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='

The boat is a 35 downeast.

B-I-N-G-O... next to bouy #2 and the Gail Frances. She's definitely worth following back home on a foggy night. FYI, she leaves at 12:30 so get your stuff ready by then if you need an escort.

I have a windlass, but the motor needed new brushes and I haven't gotten it back in yet. I'll have a crew when I find a night calm enough to be out, but it's always nice to have extra hands.
