I've been out twice in the last three days to a spot in the East, managed to bag a handfull each time and all were 25+ cm hoods, i even managed one which measured 35cm hood.
Its really starting to produce as of late and there are alot of big ones around at the moment, the spot i fish is always quiet and i rarely see anyone else fishing there which is a bonus because its one hell of a spot
sounds nice
do you use them for bait or eat them
Always keep them for bait, jewies and kingies...theyre tempting to eat but i usually hold back.
last squids i caught i crumbed then fried it was delicious <img src='http://www.squidfish.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/thumbsup2.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':thumbsup2:' />
East? Can you give us all a little bit more info on location
Definately not, sorry buddy.
Great post tribina. No evidence no location. Very informative. Did it happen? There has been some very generous fisherman sharing there passion for the sport Inc knowledge. You too can join the ranks of this calibre of person if you want to. Or fish alone in the east. Why bother posting at all ? Last night I caught a similar haul... In my dreams. I appreciate not wanting to give exact locale but a suburb wouldn't hurt would it? Step up and take the challenge. Give a little and you will receive it back!
Did it happen? easy tiger, calm down.
Why would i give away a great location only to have word spread and the area packed a week later with loads of people fishing?? Its happened before and i won't let it happen again.
Of the 500+ people that have read my post on Sydney Angler, you are the only person to have a cry about it <img src='http://www.squidfish.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='

Take a look buddy, because it did happen and the evidence is here to take a look at the photos.

Who on earth makes up stories about catching squid? this is hilarious
Oh and if i needed help with spots i would ask, but i don't because i simply find them myself, theres nothing google earth can't do, USE IT and maybe you WILL FIND SOMETHING.
End rant <img src='http://www.squidfish.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='

By the way, you can catch squid just about EVERYWHERE in Sydney Harbour but i'll give you a small hint, it was off a beach between North Bondi and Maroubra. Take your pick because they will ALL produce squid.

Do you think no one knows about your spot? Do you think the squid stay there and never move?
There's no sense in the "spot x" mentality.

That is very true.
However, I can see Tribina's point, in that I'd hate to see other places that hold a lot of squid turn into crap holes like other places have due to rubbish and so on.
Or becoming like other places that require you to fight for a spot because even man & there dog is there.
That's going to happen anyway.

If you knew the spot then you would know it wont happen
The fact that you can catch squid anywhere in the harbour goes to show how lucky we are to live in such a beautiful city. Not revealing my spot isnt going to prevent you from catching any.
Like i said, i used google earth to find it, be a little creative and spend some time on there, you will find spots you woupd never knew existed.
I'm not asking for the location as I don't need help, but plenty of people do.
I learned a lot about fishing when I was younger based on the areas I was told about and I'm happy to do the same for others.
Spot X mentality needs to stop.
Some people r off their heads why would u give up your spot ! at least he has put up a report that threre r squid around and in a general area I know it's big but if your keen there are lots of options in a short drive walk or what ever floats your boat stop crying and start catching if you know where !

I learnt ###### all from others, the only way to learn is to gwt out there and try different options to see what works best.
If you had a brain you would have figured out where my spot is by now.
All the best lads, theyre out in numbers at the moment so lets get out there!

Exactly right, like i said earlier, on the Sydney Angler forum no one had a whinge with over 600 page views. I post on here and two knobs confront me about the whole thing, geez.....
Glad to see everyone else is on the same page, we all know that squid are everywhere in Syd.
Bit immature to insult people isn't it?
