Canal is still producing...
Anyone been out last couple of days? Wonder if they're still around... I might try to head out tomorrow night... though it's almost full-moon too...

At the canal last night from 6-9 caught only 4 squids. It was high tide when i left. COLD!!!

I'm gonna try canal Fri night. Has anyone been to jamestown this week. I'll go there if the squid are there just to give another place a shot.
Was there last night.  Slow night, only 1/4 of bucket from 8-11pm

What size bucket? I was there last night too (same time) I don't think I saw more than 4 squid in anyone's bucket. Although the few that I caught were big enough that it would not take many to start filling up a bucket Smile. My definition of a bucket is a 5 gallon. Not trying to start anything, just curious how many you got. I did well earlier in the week and managed only two lonely squid last night.
Went to jamestown tonight. 7-9pm got 53 squid. All small. A nice change from the canal. There were a lot of people there and at least 8 generators lighting up the ft wetherill waters.
I don't usually count them but it is a 5 gal bucket

Hey isn't it full moon?
Anybody hear of any action in Falmouth??

Heading there next Saturday night for a poker game at a house about a 5 minute walk from the harbor...would love to drop a line in for a bit.

There was a couple guys at the canal one night saying they usually
fish woods hole but the squid are smaller there. Did not say where
exactly so at least you stand a chance of getting something.
Jamestown is good tonight even on full moon. Small squid 4-7 inch tubes. Pleanty of them though. Crowded!!! At least 12 generators going. I like fishing the canal better but it was full moon. Still.... Pleanty of squid in Jamestown now.
Anthony what time were you there til?  I was there 6 and it was very slow and left at 10.
6-9 I was one of the few people not using weight. Myself and my wife and son were not using a weight and were very much out fishing everyone around us. I'm not sure why people are so hung up on using weight. There is next to no current there. Yamashita makes different sink rates in their jigs so you can target squid at different depths and currents. There is a seminar on line that explains all this I'll find the link and post it. It will be of great help to every one on here. Even with the strong current most of the seasoned squid men at the canal use no weight. Weight is only good if the squid are hugging the very bottom.
That video was interesting, but, What did he say?
I heard New Port is very active, much better than James town.
@squidtogo Where in Newport? The goat island bridge? Is there anywhere else in Newport to get them?
Goat island.
when? My friend was there last night when I was in Jamestown and he did'nt catch any. He left GI bridge around 9.
