The full moon is not good for me either.  Caught only 3 quids on Saturday night from 7pm- 11pm.

Squid on the Vinyard. Got 80 last night in Menemsha, my buddy got 60 real quick in Edgartown. There were huge ones in Edgartown, Menemsha had a mix of small, medium and large ones. It should get pretty hot here for a couple of weeks, the fall run is on!!

Grabbed 17 at canal last night. Best time was early on. Current picked up got cold and went home around 11:30, before the best tide came in. Fishing was porb really good later on if I caught 17 on the off tide.
Anyone heading to canal FRI?
Thinking about it... are the squid still there?

Water temp hasn't really changed this week so don't see why not.
Big squid in Edgartown in the daytime. Jigging deep water with a 1oz sinker at the end of the line with a jig on a 3ft leader up the line about 3ft. Squidding from a dock  casting out into the deep water 20-30 ft deep. Hot afternoon action, a few of us got about 70 with tubes between 6 and 12 inches. Went back to a shallower spot on another dock between 7 and 9PM and I got 100 more myself, and saw another hundred or so caught by others. Action was slow then hot over and over for two hours and I left them biting with a full two gallon bucket. These were smaller with 4-8" tubes, perfect bass bait size. Went to Menemsha on the way home and got several quickly around 10PM, cold and hungry went home. I think the action in Menemsha is still good at the right time of tide and I think there will be good squidding for a couple more weeks here on the Vinyard although I have to return to N.Y. this coming weekend. Anybody seen any good action in the Stonington/Mystic area???

The squid fishing is still just about non existent in RI and CT. I was
down RI today and we fished out in 140 ft and sea bass was best I've ever
seen. The sea bass were spitting up 3-4" haddock what a surprise for RI.
Black fish was great fishing also. While there I always ask about squid,
and the guys from RI CT and NY all shake their heads like squid never existed.
Looked at what it would cost to go to the island for squid and the round trip
on the ferry (with vehicle) isn't worth the adventure.
Still squid in canal saw some tonight on my way to work
Too windy tonight gonna shoot for tomorrow.

I'm here at the canal - kinda windy but tolerable - will try squidding when it gets dark
Hi. new here. Did well at the canal last night. Squid were large and came in waves. They actually seemed to make large circular patterns...coming close to shore against the current, then after hugging the shoreline for 20 feet or so, move away from shore and ride the current back, and then start the loop again. Switching jigs made a difference, since the would take a jig for a few times in a row and then grow leery of it. I usually tie direct, but considering the situation used a snap clip to speed changing jigs, they were not afraid of heavier line or the additional hardware.
Got to canal about 12:30. Wind was calm. Met squidtogo down there, I guess I missed squidmonkey. It was great fishing for at least 2 hours. Some monsters were caught. I will post pics later. Squidtogo left with just under half a bucket. I weighed mine and left with 7#s. This was first time I fished with no light. I think it may work better.
Here are the pics
Dangit!!! I SHOULDA COME BACK! Sad Oh well... i may go tonight anyway... heh heh

Tonight looks perfect, hi at 11pm no moon. No harsh wind.
Hmmmmm I just may have to make one more trip. Anthony what
size/color and the usual spot?
Hello Janz, for the past two nights they start to bites after 9:30pm stop after 11:30 then hit again after midnight.

It's good to have two rods with you, they will hit up top then deep bottom.

Good luck!!!
Thanks any size or color working well. Weight for down deep
or just let it sink slow by itself. I am going to try to be
there tonight.
Wish I could head down there tonite, but need some rest, gearing up for an all day marathon bottom fishing trip on Eastmans out of Seabrook NH.
