the squid are in the hundreds at palm beach jetty. get in earl so you can get a good spot under the lights. the squid arnt all that big and are only taking the smaller jigs but you can easily catch your limit by the end of the night.
mangles bay is also a great place to catch larger squid
G'day Mish,
Great to hear from someone from the other side of this this fantastic nation.
I hope to head on over to Perth on Day and try my luck with the squid over there.
How far are these locations you mentioned from Perth Centre? In Hours and km's please.
The piers in most of the Melbourne locations have heaps of anglers in summer, hunting the prized calarmai. Are there many Calamari crazzed people there too?
Regards,
Joe Giaimo.
1 hour south of perth. i think 60km.
we get alot too hunting squid especially italians. MAN THERE GOOD AT CATCHING THEM TOO.
Thanx for the welcome

Hey miSh, i am in Armadale and some times go to woodmans point but had no luck. Have u been there before and have u caught anything there?
What is the best time to go?
Manny.

Garden Island/Hmas Stirling (same place to different names) and on the ammo wharf
it is a warf and from the first 10 metres out on the wharf its just solid weed bottom and its huge all around great place and my first ever squid was caugh there he he
Tips/Notes
get there and hour to an hour and a half before sunset
<img src='http://www.squidfish.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/blueboxbullet.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':ink' /> IMPORTANT NOTE!! <img src='http://www.squidfish.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/blueboxbullet.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':th' /> you must be taken there and have someone with you there who is part of the defence force and has the clearance to go there as it is a naval base
you are only allowed there until an hour after sunset
squid sizes are huge and long way to water to bother bringing gaff or net the wharf itself is covered in ink from squids
