just got home with 2.6 kilos worth of squid two going 920 and 860 grams. two others making up the diff.

Fished brighton near the last hut, got the 860 gram one there, then went to home turf and got the last three. All 4 were caught on Yo-Zuri Flashdancer 3.25's. brighton squid on the pink, and the other three on the brown one.

Met Ian on my way out, wished i could have stayed but had to pick up my pissed as a fart better half.

Good mornings squidding without the OCD jig changing... Flashdancer FTW.

Oh and Mason wouldn't get out of bed.... <img src='http://www.squidfish.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Wink' />

Decided t0 use the gesola 3.5 GE-03 as rocksy had caught a bigger squid .........caught 2 with it

And use the yamishita natural 2.0 MIH ...............caught 2 with it

As far as retrieve goes i use the same method all the time.

cast it out, give 8 seconds sink, 6or 7 jigs to give some side to side action then another 5 second sink

and very slow wind.

sometimes it seems if you create a bigger commotion in the water at the start if theres any squid near bye they will focus on it.

Everyone has there own way and we all experts lol.it worked ok today 2 morro maybe another story.

cheers ian
so many questions...

Ian did some of your squid go 1.4 kilo by themselves? mine went 2.6 together... my biggest was 920.

Good score mate.

Mase i was fishing right at the start of the breakwall i could see them swimming around, there were about 5 of them the same size.

Kim, the flashdancer works in the left and right zigzag really well i find you can either hammer it hard and make it rise up in a zig zag or you can just twitch it slowly and make it dart left right about a foot at a time, i vary the technique and find sometimes they will only hit it if give it one really hard jerk followed by a few shorter ones. I'm all for the 2-3 jerk egi retrieve but i'm confident they see the same movement all day, I change it up as much as i can.

but i was using the brown one in the pitch black, this lure is my numero uno squid jig... i'd buy 20 of each colour if i could find them (and had the money).

Hey kim,

what did the water look like?

i was a few mins from brighton getting some new jigs and watching some guys fish, the water started to dirty up there around 7pm.
G-factor was there was his dad lastnight in the same spot kim and his dad landed a 1.5 kilo squid. I got 11 landed this morning and G-factor got one just shy of a kilo and dropped one lifting it that was around 700-800

I also got all mine on the flashdancers, few on the brown and most on the pink.
