It's good to know that I'm not the only one with a problem - I'm obsessed with squidding like you guys!
you will be suprised when you go down to brighton pier or a few other spots and its packed, everyone using different rods, reels, techniques.

its crazy.

then the secret spots have only 1 o2 people there

a few of us try ot get out every night or morning.

once you get a hang of the feeding habbits ate your spots you will get good numbers in little time.

I think spending a few sessions up your way might teach me a few more tricks judging by what your saying. Irrespective, its good to be able to chat and fish alongside other fellow squid fishers who are friendly and willing to share the fun of catching squid. I often share me tricks with my fellow squid fishers when I go to my favorite haunts (qcliff and port arlington). These tend to be the most enjoyable sessions.
there is alot of guys that will tell you everything and are friendly, the are the guys that catch squid.

the shitty ones dont catch squid.

if your after all the big name squid jigs at a cheap price let me know, i know he perfect guy.
don't even bother the dreading has stuffed the water up it is like the yarra on the bridge part go straight to the rocks <img src='http://www.squidfish.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/zorro.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Sad' />

Thanks mate, I have got my eye on those gancraft custom tournament jigs. Do you think he could hook me up with a few of those? What jigs have been working for you recently? I have to admit I can't go past a tackle store without buying at least 1 jig!
Mate do yourself a favour, Get yourself any of these.

Pink #3.25 Yo-Zuri Flashdancer

Dead Butterfly #3 GanCraft Evil Bait

Black with Pink tribal #2.9 XOR Mega Bass

Dotted Gizzard #2.5 - #3 Yamashita Natural or Live Q

Glow Pink and Orange #2.5 - #3 Harimitsu, along with pretty much any other harimitsu

Any of the Clicks Prospecs.

Breaden Egimaru

I'm %99 sure the next big thing to hit out shores will be the Clicks ProSpec Glow dot, which you can't buy for love nor money it seems. or the Monkey Bait jigs.

they both seem to get a massive amount of squid, from reading the japanese fishing blogs.

You've got me twitching with excitement! The only thing is where do I go to get my hands on these jigs. Apart from the Flashdancer - no one on my side of town would stock any of these. Is there some website or place that I could get my hands on these.
various places around town sell them, but most of the premium jigs you will have to track down via the net, which is cheaper.

Re will sell you a fair stack of ultra high quality jigs, hes like a crack dealer for people with Jig OCD.
you may notice when looking for jigs on japanese sites, that they have squillions of size #3's #3.5 and #4's.

That's how they roll in Japan, virtually all jigs in japan are released as a #3.5 first or maybe a #3. Some companies don't even make a 2.5 or smaller.
ohh get a yamashita natural AJK slow sinking they are the bomb at Brighton it is the staple squid jig for me and alot of the regulars at Brighton <img src='http://www.squidfish.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/zorro.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Sad' />

You guys are gold. Thanks for all the tips and advise. Hoping to see you out on the pier at some point in the near future. If I get out I'll send out a message beforehand and hopefully make contact. Thanks again.
AJK is the best on the pier......

at night it works better than glow jigs.................

AJK AND IBA and a daiwa jig i use on brighton pier at night.
who wants to join me at brighton rocks and pier in the morning?

I will probably be hitting brighton rocks and the pier in the morning with a mate. Because I'm a first timer at Brighton pier I'll probably be getting there at about 4.30 or 5am in the morning. I'll be wearing my Carlton Beanie.
