i didn't catch anything....saw a guy catch 3 on the rocks. now i know its productive on the 3rd pole after the boat yard....
i was fishing the pier for 20mins, there was a lot of people there, no action so i moved onto the rocks.
another day at brighton with no squids.
however, i did get a random pull over by the police... and they were filming for highway patrol !!! he checked my car for any modifications, couldn't get me for anything. the camera man said i wasn't bad enough! haha
i always thought that show was stagged because who would want to be on camera while getting busted, its embarrassing. reckon you have a choice to be in it or not ???
sorry for going off topic

hey kim, did you go on a charter for the tuna?
im looking to go up as he big ones are starting to pop up now.
i was going to go saturday morning as wind was great but the bed was to warm to get out of.
i have fished dirty water, got a 1.5 at brighton, right at the baths in dirty water, was only thing i caught.
dirty water fishing is ok, have to work hard for the squid, i use scent, glow jigs even if sun is still up, it seems to work well. yo zuri uv jigs.
but id rather go when its clear water and wind is good and bag out than fish for 4 hours and only get a few.

mase,
i went with Matt Hunt Fishing Services charter, $250 and well worth it. You leave at 8 am , only 4 fishing on the boat and about 8 rods in trolling and got back at 4 pm and eerone had a nice fish. I only go the one but that was fun enough. I would highly recommend Matts charter. He knows the area well and makes sure you get a fish or at least tries bloody hard. WE saw somone at the ramp with 100kg tuna massive.
Back to squid. Got two small ones this morning and dropped a bigger one back into the water. Sandringham area. Water nice and clear.

had a great morning at brighton today.
got there around 5am fished till 9:30.
used a variety of jigs from glow harimitsu to megabass.
got 8 between 2 of us. all around 600grams.
water was very good, early in the morning as tide started to run out water was alittle murky but cleaned up well and tonight will go off...
the bigger squid should be moving in soon as spawning starts.
CANT WAIT.........

i can't win a trick at the moment. I went out last night at Beauy 9 PM to 1 AM an not even a touch. Lost 2 jigs. There was another guy trying too and he was there from 5 Pm and nothign all night. Water was pefect and clear. I moved all arround the pier deep to shallow both sides.
I recon beau has gone off.
im not 100% ure but i heared people bagged out at brighton in 20mins of fishing last night on sunset.
if there was abit os a storm hanging around, or maybe they filled up with food in the morning....
i have alwasy wondered at beau because you so high off the water and when water is clear if squid can see you?
i got to brighton at 8:00 last night two guys got 3 another guy got 1 on a baited jig next to the baths and i got one at the third light and droped a big one next to the baths...
yea, sunset is the best time
bright rocks go off at sunset and then is dead until change of tide, then sunrise.....
tonight will be good, north wind so water will be great and help with the cast......
sunset tonight will go nuts at brighton...
the big ones are also getting caught...
no nothing just been down, just 1 small one on the whole pier
