it sure does, but not to late and not to early.
i'l give it a go... i'l be there at midnight, if all goes well, il stay until the morning.

should be freeezziingggg... i was fishing mornington last week, night shift, my hands went all numb.

hopefully the squids will keep me busy and warm.
the pier seems to be alot beter than the rocks at night, usual sunset is the rocks and pier at nigh till morning.

well its been like that the last few nights i have gone.

hands going numb is all part of it ahahahahah
go to kmart and try to find some long sleeve fingerless gloves, my polar fleece ones are awesome when it's cold, and they go about half way up my wrist.
good idea.

i have soem gloves i use at work when we are away racing.

has a led light on a finger so you can see what your doing.

very warm also.

i so wish i could be fishing right now but im about to leave for a wedding and wont be back till late.

hoping weather will still be decent and i can get a quick fish befor sunrise in

i got zilch

no one was on the pier at 1am, i fished till 3am and that's it. freezing cold. fingers went numb and then cramped up haha. couldn't even wiggle them.

yes gloves are good !

i guess its more productive at sunset/arvos, need to find some time to give it a crack. gotta get my first brighton squid and stop travelling to mornington everyweek...
hello,

brighton rocks where good last night.

we fished beaumaris till around 1am, then another place then brighton till 3 i think.

not a huge amount of squid to be caught, plus it was a very low tide last night, the run out tide seems to be good but not a flat low tide.
you were at brighton rocks last nite till 3am ???

i was at the start of the pier, in front of the sea baths. i think i left around 2:45am.

i didn't walk out to the rocks because i didnt see any sign of anyone out there.

might have another crack at the end of the week! maybe il try a morning shift too.
Brighton is copping a pounding at the moment, early early morning usually has less fishos.

The tides seem to be making the most difference at the moment, besides the dusk and dawn bite.

If you have the room, walk the pier. 15 mins in one spot and move, cast in a wide arc pattern and cover the water where you are.

Brighton is a funny beast, some days the rocks work really well, some days its the pier. If the conditions are good and your not catching them, your doing something wrong. might be something as simple as depth or speed of the retrieve.

Squid are like dogs, they can be sound alseep and you throw the something and they are off. Always in the mood to chase something that's moving fast enough. <img src='http://www.squidfish.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Smile' />

Very true.

i have found the slow sinking naory to work well when the squid go off the bite.

its liek you throw a 3.0 natural at them and they go nah sinking to fast cbf chasing it.

then you put a 2.2 slow sinking naory and they go ahh i can catch this....

its all in the jis action, but when they are there a simple slow retrieve works just as good as egging.
i might come down and have a throw tonight after i download and watch the series finale of Lost <img src='http://www.squidfish.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':th' />
