i will be getting some of that line for sure...
maybe email plat and ask if which is better, the avani suspending line or the daiwa... i don't trust the daiwa after your issues with it.

the avani seems to used alot by the japanese.
yea i did talk to plat about my line and he did tell me that it has been a wide spread problem with that line.

i have emailed a few people about it to get info.

are you out tonight?

If im not completely haggard come Saturday morning Ill be joining you mate <img src='http://www.squidfish.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Smile' /> At the moment if I do looks like Ill be coming straight back from the city and directly to the pier, sounds like a goodnight to me, haha.

Went this arvo to check out the water, considering this morning was murky as, it cleared up amazingly well and the water was crystal clear! Just wish I was able to fish sunset, I reckon the squid would have gone off!

i did get 2 in murky water this morning
well i had a bit of an all over the place adventure this morning... first off i headed to Spot C, to fish for a few biguns but it was too windy in my face and it was low tide... not a good combo. so i headed to brighton.

I was sitting on my usual rock, had the baited jig way out over the weed bed. got bupkis on that, not even a nibble. ended up nabbing a 300gram on the flashdancer, than squat for half an hour so i moved to the pier... too windy and i was over it, so i headed back to spot C to fish the last half of the incoming... got squat and the wind hadn't shifted, gave up after 15mins.

Off to beauy... said G'day to old George who had a handful of nice sized gar. he said someone had just left, who had been fishing for squid for 3 hours and got nothing.

I got two on my first two casts <img src='http://www.squidfish.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Smile' /> i fished until 7:30 and ended up with 5 all up and two lost at the pier one of which was well over 600grams as i saw him take it.

The big ones would have struggled to be 500grams. so i whacked them all in the ziplock bag and gave them to old George, who forced his 10 gar on me.

Ended up being a good morning... caught 5 squid and came home with 10 Gar.

Flashdancers got all but one. got a few photos uploading, nothing special...
Anyoe headed out in the morning and where?

rocksy i mite head to spot b then c.
hang on, your spot B is my Spot C, i was actually at spot D today, not spot C

There is also now Spot E... Which i haven't tried yet, gonna go for a drive later and have a look. Could be a high tide mecca... looks dangerous though.

seriously need to write these down, getting confusing.
nah i went local, got the last one about 7ish, 4 on the flashdancer and 3 on the yo-zuri orange glow size 3 i have. 2 squid on the first two casts.... <img src='http://www.squidfish.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Smile' /> love that.

Brighton was too windy.... and westerly. absolutely freeeeezing cold. jeans not a good idea this morning... my knees were killing me from the cold.

yeah, beauy's my hood
hey you heading out tonight or in the morning?
May see you guys a spots a,b,c,d,e, tomorrow .........rocksy what time you heading to the hood.
not sure ian, i over slept today now my fishing clock is out of whack... i'll probably be at beauy early, and if i don't get anything by 5am i may head somewhere else. the early low tides are a pain for some of the spots.
May nick down to see whats happening ...........depends what my little brain thinks when my eyes open.

good luck anyhow.

Cheers ian
question, what leader knot do you guys use. I have been conveted to uses the FG knott but its too hard to tie in the field. its the best knot i beleive, thin and less fristion during casts on the runners?
