G'day Nick,

Get in touch with sunfish 32845977.

They should be able to help.

I was out on the Gold Coast Broadwater today and a couple of squid (1 giant one) followed up my yabbie bait on a whiting hook.

Had one on but it soon let go.

Tell me Nick or anyone else what is the best jig to use and the method from a boat.

Pedro
What a beautiful day today. Went out for a quiet fish this morning at the local rock groynes. Pretty slow on the fishing front with the odd herring. Stopped at South Mole to see if I can pickup more squid. Ended up with 13 in under 2hrs. Went home, cleaned up and had squid for lunch and tea...mmmh....squid burger Cool The sizes varied from bite size to better than average. There were more around but it was lunch time so left them biting so to speak.

Sorry no pics as I only thought of it after Ive eaten them.
well done on the catch! and thanks for sharing the report.

i hope you realise that if you keep eating squid twice a day you will eventually develope "squid skin" and you will change colour as you move from one backdrop to the next!!! <img src='http://www.squidfish.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':th' /> like the cameleon!!!

cheers, glen
awesome.........now I can chase fish even more effectively......especially tarpons.....
Went squidding again today. This time I nearly bagged out...with 17 (not inc. a tiny little cuttly), could have but it poured down

Mind you I did have to move around a FAIR bit. Start at South Mole, 4 from there, North Mole no takers and blown out at one section, finally took shelter at Fisherman Harbour, ended up with 13 from there.

Now I got pics with the 5 biggest...with a No 4.0 jig

hi guys, just signed on looks like a great forum.

I went out to woodmans point 2 nights ago and noticed a lot of ink marks on the jetty. I usually am a boat goer for squiding.

Has anybody been catching squid lately at woodmans point, freo harbour, north/south mole? Wouldn't mind going down for a squid but not sure if the marks were from the winter just gone?

Cheers
went to north mole and woodmans tonight.

not a thing and tried with different colours and a few different sizes. hopefully hold off till may-aug and get a good few months feed

might give freo sailing club wall a go as i went out for a walk and saw a boat close to the wall having a squid

any other suggestions for this time of year ???

hi libba! thanks for sharing the photos and welcome to the forum.

hopefully someone from WA can help with your questions soon. cheers, glen <img src='http://www.squidfish.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/xyxthumbs.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Smile' />
hey libba, im a keen squider of the cockburn sound it has calmed in the last month or so was having a ball there for a while, but im also a boatie, i also went for a stroll down to the ammo jetty to find hunderds or scaly mackrel around the jetty so they may have a buffet of food to go for but there, there were plenty of ink stains though, and with that much food they should be nearby, if you got a boat i suggest mangles bay or garden island, its slowed down but there is always enough for dinner out there
thats awesome may give it a try.

i am just scouring around the onshore areas till the boating time begins.

let us know how u go!

thanks for the report and post
went to freo mole last week and caught these squids in 1.5 hours (see photos)..

cheers!

Went out Sunday morning for a squid...geez it blew hard offshore. Casting was great, if you can stay standing. Squidding was crap. Whole morning got 3 but 2 of them are whoppers for shorebased area. They went 33cm and 34cm tubes.
