Hi everyone,

Im Tom and i have been squidding for about 3 seasons now. I first started as to collect bait for Jew and King but now i really enjoy doing it. I really want to get another set up just for squidding, Im land based in Sydney and i dont have a car so most of the time i fish off piers and wharves, i use jigs that are ranging from 1.5-2.5 size, i have a couple bigger ones but i think it's a lil over killed for where im fishing from - i could be wrong.

Now, as of rod, would you recommend getting a custom made rod here in Sydney or getting a Japanese Rod?  Ive seen some of the videos on Breaden rods and i love those bending action of it.

For the 1st option, how would you have your rod built? length, action, guides, butt etc.. so it will suit my scenario

and the 2nd option is to buy from a specialist, to be  honest, i did look up and man...there are lots of brands and lots of models within a brand. Ive heard about Breaden, Graphiteleader, Nissin, Megabass and soooo many more and i have no idea which rod is suited and has that bending action like the Breaden - i believe the aggressive jig and "bending action" wont tear off squid's tentacles   (i dont know which model it was because everything was in Japanese), and where to buy them from.

i think choosing the model that suits me is a little harder than knowing where to buy them from no???

Anyways, i was prepared to get the high quality rod and it works out having a custom made rod is just about the same price. ill pair it with size 2000-3000 either Certate or Aegis.

Could you please help me out with this, im not an expert in this field and i belive there are many of them here in this forum. I would also like to meet up and have a session or two with the more experience so i can learn from you.

thank you very much and best regards,

Tommy.
