Hello, lurker here hasn't logged for a while.
Performed an experiment recently with an attractant on my jigs. I bought some small Living Bait Series shads from Kokoda for flathead fishing. The pack came with a syringe of prawn essence which you use as an enema in a specially designed hole in the lure.
I took the stuff with me the next time I went squidding and squirted it on my jigs. The result seemed pretty good. While I didn't have a "control" with a non-scented jig, it seemed like I was getting plenty more squid at my regular spot so I've taken to using the stuff.
I wanted to buy more of it, but not pay ten bucks for three lures each time I wanted more attractant. After much phoning 'round to tackle people with no success, I went back to the store and they've ordered me a box of the little syringes. After I've had another few attempts I'll report back.
