The following information was obtained from the Fisheries Victoria Commercial Fish Production Information Bulletin 2003 which can be viewed on the Department of Primary Industries website:

Key facts are as follows:
In 2002/2003 the total harvest of southern calamari from Victorian waters was 64 tonne. 40 tonne was taken in Port Phillip Bay, 5 tonne from Western Port Bay and 17 tonne from Corner Inlet.
