dude i use jigs which i got from ebay 6 for $12 i think or $10 anyway i've been ctahcing with them and if i loose one i aint gonna stress at seeing a few dollars on the ocean floor compared to that of 20-30 dollars
cheers pat
i would go for "medium expensive". you shouldn't have to pay more than $8-10 AUS. anything more is a waste i think. or better still take up snorkelling and never buy a jig again! :-)
cheers, glen
I have lost zero squid jigs in my life and as a result I tend to splash out on jigs base on the justification that itll get a good run. I used my old Yo Zuri 3.0 for so long it had to be retired, crippled from lost eye and zillions of bites on fabric as well as faded colour. Structurally it was still sound
I love the Shrimp Hunter I bought - and no I havent been squiding for months <img src='http://www.squidfish.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/crying.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':th' />
The cheap ones do work, no doubt about that, but on days when they are a bit picky, the expensive ones will win out - you dont pay good money for nothing!
I only use the real cheapies. I believe they work just as well especially when spinning. They also spare passers by the spectacle of seeing a grown man cry after they have just lost a $25 jig!

I think expensive squid jig can catch more squids.
One night I had been fishing for long time before my friend came. He did not spend long time to catch 6 pieces while the whole night I caught 2.
I am using the cheapy jig I bought from Warehouse, plastic finish without cloth.
But I also believe to bait up the jig with pilchard could be another reason my friend cuaght more.

i would definately say expensive i have had superior luck with the yo zuri even if it has cost me a fortune. i have bought some Mako generic jigs for 10$ and they are packageed almost exactly the same as the yo zuri shrimp hunter and i will be trying them tonight. good squidding all
