There is a thing on ebay (if u wanna loko just type in crabbing i think  ) and aparently it tells you when a crab is in your pot.

so i was just wandering mabye if i should buy it or not

and another question, coz im just a newbie at all types of fishing including crabbing AND squidding I have no idea where to go crabbing for big mummas, the average size i get is only 11cm <img src='http://www.squidfish.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/mad.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':th' /> which is the minimum size limit.

So if any pros out there have some secret spots they wanna tell me <img src='http://www.squidfish.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tongue.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Wink' /> go right ahead lol.

happy fishin
Might want to tell us where you live if you want spots!!

As for this thing - its not the ones which go on your rod are they?? ive seen these crab snares which you put on your rod, and as the crab runs with the bait it pulls on the rod and you wind them in........... <img src='http://www.squidfish.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':th' />
I live in Hallett Cove so i really go to brighton.

And no one has told me yet if i should get a crab pot alarm [lol]

cheers

PS; they are actual crab nets you throw off the end of the jetty
Another South Aussie - welcome along!! <img src='http://www.squidfish.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/xyxthumbs.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Rolleyes' />

Can you get a picture, or provide the link to the auction you are talking about - might be easier to help you then!
SORRY - SPOTS:

If you want some crabs (i assume your after blueys) then Glenelg Jetty (just up from Brighton) holds plenty during summer, but one of the best spots (landbased) is the Outer Harbour breakwater - there is a small jetty there - but apparently in summer it gets packed, and during a big tide, the water runs flat out so its hard to keep nets still - just make sure they are thrown in a long way otherwise they will get caught - also can catch many fish here - cast towards the poles in the water to the right of the jetty!!
