it would be cool to see these while snorkelling. in summer i will try to take some more underwater photos.

In whyalla in SA they are in plague numbers at a certain time of the year, and are actually protected - thousands of them come in to the bay to spawn and apparently its an awesome place to dive during that time - cant remember when it is though!!

We get heaps of em here they are great to snorkel with really curious they will follow you around and even try to steal fish off your float after you have speared them.The candles also make awsome kingy bait

Can you eat cuttlefish? I have never seen any snorkelling but have caught a couple with a yo zuri jig.

yes you can definitely eat them....have a look through the cooking forum for tips on cleaning them.

I would feel kinda bad killing one because they look so nice! Might try one though.Its sorta like spearing those big wrasse up North. The fish come up and interact with you and some idiots kill them! :blink:

its funny when i walk along beaches, i find hundreds of cuttlebones, but when snorkelling, ive never actualy seen 1!
