This week's best bets
Squid fishing is good from public piers in Edmonds, Seattle and Des Moines. Jiggers use medium-weight rods and reels with squid lures or jigs. Squid are attracted to light, so either fish on a pier that has lights, or bring a portable generator and a floodlight to train on water at least 20 feet deep. The daily limit is five quarts or 10 pounds. Each person must have a container for the catch.
