These workshops and forums are open to anyone interested in crayfish and their regulations. Usually we are outnumbered by commercials and Fisheries Victoria staff, so anyone with a view to get a better deal for divers, snorklers and hoop netters is welcome. Unfortunately these are held during normal working hours. Location; Primary Industries Research, 2a Bellarine Hwy, Queenscliff. Lunch is provided.

Monday 17th October 2005: Workshop.

This is an open meeting in that items or points of interest that individuals may wish to present or talk about can be done during this session. Items can either be sent earlier to David Molloy, to be included in the agenda and discussed first (preferable), or brought up later on the day in general business (time permitting).

Tuesday 18th October 2005: Forum

This is the formal process (with an independant chair) for reviewing and making recommendations to Fisheries Victoria. Items such as size limits, closed seasons and bag limits are reviewed. Agenda items you wish to have discussed would need to be presented via a regognised body such as VRFish or SDFV, (or me). The main item I will be placing on the agenda is for the return of the bag limit back to 4 (in the Western Zone). They will also be looking at ways to measure how many crayfish non-commercials catch. Agenda items and/or discussion papers need to be submitted by Monday 19th September.

For those who would like to attend, please contact David on 5258 0252 (email David.Molloy@dpi.vic.gov.au) to register or find out more information.
Thanks for letting us know Ian, again I'd love to come but I've got no chance during the day on a weekday. If you wouldn't mind putting your hand up again to legalise nooses in VIC it would be much appreciated. Good on you for standing up for us rec cray fishers <img src='http://www.squidfish.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/xyxthumbs.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Smile' /> <img src='http://www.squidfish.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/xyxthumbs.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Smile' /> <img src='http://www.squidfish.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/xyxthumbs.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':th' />
